FACHFRAGEN Folge mit Prof. Patrick Velte
Podcast: The EU Omnibus Package on Sustainability Reporting and Due Diligence (in German)
The EU Commission wants to achieve a significant reduction in bureaucracy of at least 25%, and for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) of at least 35%, in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the European economy. As a consequence, the sustainability-related reporting and due diligence obligations under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), and the Taxonomy Regulation, as well as the group of users, are to be significantly limited and the initial application dates extended. To this end, the EU Commission published a so-called Omnibus I package on February 26, which is currently the subject of controversial debate in business practice and politics. With Professor Patrick Velte as a guest, FACHFRAGEN: Der Podcast für Wirtschaft, Recht und Management (Technical Questions: The Podcast for Business, Law, and Management) presents the key contents of the Omnibus package and takes a critical look at it.
